Junior Lawyer — Resolution Team
Full-time · Remote · Legal Tech
Akordans is an AI-powered dispute resolution and contract services platform. We help businesses and individuals resolve commercial disputes and negotiate contracts — without the cost and delay of traditional legal proceedings.
As our platform grows, we are building a resolution team to ensure every AI-generated outcome meets the highest standards of legal accuracy and fairness. This is not a traditional legal role. You will not be billing hours or attending court. You will be working at the intersection of law and technology — reviewing AI-generated resolutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping shape how AI is applied to legal services.
This is an early-stage role with significant responsibility and room to grow. The person who joins now will have a direct impact on how Akordans develops its legal standards and processes.
What You Will Do
Your primary responsibility will be reviewing AI-generated mediation resolutions before they are sent to parties. You will assess each resolution for legal accuracy, factual consistency with the evidence, and compliance with applicable law. Where the AI has erred, you will correct it. Where it has performed well, you will approve it. Your decisions will directly affect real disputes between real people and businesses.
In parallel, you will oversee Akordans' legal and regulatory compliance. As a platform operating across multiple jurisdictions, Akordans must stay current with evolving legislation — consumer protection, data privacy, AI regulation, and sector-specific rules. You will monitor regulatory developments, flag compliance issues, and work with the founding team to ensure the platform operates within applicable legal frameworks worldwide.
Who We Are Looking For
You have a law degree and ideally some post-qualification experience, though we are open to exceptional recent graduates. You are comfortable reading evidence and forming a clear, reasoned view — you do not need consensus to reach a conclusion.
You are genuinely interested in technology and its application to legal services. You do not need to be a programmer, but you should be curious about how AI works and eager to understand its limitations. You will be working with AI outputs every day — scepticism and rigour are assets here.
You are comfortable working independently and remotely. Akordans is a small, fast-moving team. You will not have a supervisor reviewing every decision. You will be trusted to do the work to a high standard and to raise issues when they arise.
You are fluent in English. Additional languages — particularly French, Dutch, German, or Spanish — are a significant advantage given the cross-border nature of our caseload.
Requirements
- Law degree (LLB, LLM, or equivalent)
- Strong written English
- Analytical rigour — ability to assess evidence and reach clear conclusions
- Interest in legal technology and AI
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
Nice to Have
- Post-qualification experience in commercial law, dispute resolution, or contract law
- Experience with mediation or alternative dispute resolution
- Additional EU languages
- Familiarity with GDPR and EU AI Act
- Experience at a legal tech company or startup
What We Offer
This is a full-time remote role with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. You will join a small founding team at an early stage of a genuinely interesting company. The work is varied, intellectually stimulating, and consequential — the resolutions you review affect real disputes between real people.
You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape how Akordans' legal standards and processes develop. As the platform grows, this role grows with it.
We are building something that makes legal services accessible to people who cannot afford traditional legal fees. If that matters to you, this is the right place.
How to Apply
Send your CV and a short note — no more than three paragraphs — explaining why this role interests you and what you would bring to it. We do not need a formal cover letter. We do need to understand how you think.
